Getting Started

1. Accept your TestFlight invite

You’ll get an email invite from TestFlight — accept it on the iPhone you want to use with Active Metrics. If you don’t have TestFlight installed yet, the invite link will prompt you to install it from the App Store first.

2. Install on iPhone, then on your watch

Install Active Metrics from TestFlight on your iPhone. Once it’s installed, open the Watch app on your iPhone and confirm the Active Metrics watch app installs alongside it — this usually happens automatically, but check under Watch → Installed on Apple Watch if you don’t see it appear within a minute or two.

3. Walk through the welcome tutorial

The first time you open the app, a short three-page tutorial explains how the watch and phone work together, then hands you off to grant Health access.

Welcome to Active Metrics intro screen One training loop: record, review, iterate Your data, your devices — connect Apple Health

4. Grant permissions

Active Metrics will ask for a few permissions as you use different features — you don’t need to grant everything up front:

You can deny any of these and the app will keep working with reduced functionality rather than breaking — see the privacy policy for exactly what each permission is used for.

5. Start your first workout

On your watch, open Active Metrics and pick a sport from the start screen. TODO: screenshot — sport picker / pre-start config on watch.

6. Where results show up

After you end a workout on your watch, it saves to Apple Health and syncs to your iPhone through your own iCloud account — open the Workouts tab on iPhone to review the map, charts, and splits. TODO: screenshot — workout review on iPhone.
